Survey Overview

Our group created a survey (clicking here will bring you to this survey) about the usage of online social communities such as Facebook and Myspace. The sample consisted of 125 students from the University of Florida.

Student Usage of Online Social Communities at UF

*80% of Facebook users on average sign on at least once a day.

How UF Students Use Online Social Communities

*The average UF student has 89 friends listed.

*The average UF student interacts with only 10% of these in person on a given week.

*There was a slight correlation (0.30) between how many friends a student listed and how dependant they were on personal relationships. (as friend amount went higher, dependancy grew higher)
